GENERAL SUMMARY
The Senior Manufacturing Accountant will report to the U.S. Controller and be a key piece of the local Rochester, NY operations team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing month-end journal entries, preparing financial statement reports, and comparing budget vs forecast vs actual. This position will also complete budgeting, forecasting, and projecting with Ad hoc reporting.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and analyze variances related to cost center reports and trial balance.
- Review expense and balance sheet accounts: research and resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner.
- Assist cost center owners/business partners with questions and analysis as requested.
- Prepare journal entries for month, quarter, and year end.
- Assist in compiling various inventory reports and journal entries.
- Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis.
- Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories.
- Reviews and updates standard costs on a regular basis.
- Manages work orders including review of work orders with managers.
- Reviews and analyzes variances – standard to actual.
- Maintain and test internal controls and update documentation, when needed.
- Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts.
- Review, research and analyze inventory and margin reports regarding cost analyses and profitability.
- Work on special projects as requested.
- Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, etc.
- Submit accurate and timely inventory gross margin schedules to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to speak, read & write English language
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong organization & communication skills
- Detailed oriented
- Proven ability to analyze & interpret financial data
- Manufacturing experience is a plus

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- 5-7 years of accounting experience
