Full-time Machining Process Engineer at Enbi Rochester, NY
General summary
The Machining Process Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining a Lean Manufacturing setting. The Machining Process Engineer works with both the customers and fellow departments to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machining, inertia welding and injection molding processes. This position works within a fast-paced custom machining and molding environment.
Primary duties & responsibilities
- Lead production implementation of new inertia welded, and CNC turned products including defining processing steps and development of CNC programs and process instruction/setup documentation.
- Design and support the build of jigs/fixtures and automation.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement projects geared towards reducing scrap & process costs
- Manage the entire prototype build of products; including but not limited to material sourcing, material processing, verification of specs & product testing
- Assist the sales & production departments with engineering changes, bill of material, routing development and product costs
- Assist with maintaining department records to comply with ISO requirements
- Evaluate & train employees on the latest set up and processing techniques
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required skills & abilities
- Must be able to speak, read & write in English
- Ability to design and model 3D CAD software
- Ability to create CNC programs using CAD/ CAM (preferably Mastercam).
- Strong understanding and application of GD&T
- Strongly skilled in Statistical Process Control
- Detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong people & problem-solving skills
Physical requirements
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs independently
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods
- Must be able to bend, crouch and crawl, as needed
Education/ experience
- High School diploma/GED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably mechanical)
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience in CNC manufacturing environment
- CNC Grinding experience is a plus

- $80,000 – $95,000 /year
